The Hope Center provides resources and facilities to encourage translation of basic science discoveries into therapies for brain diseases. These core facilities are used by Center investigators, and are available to other Washington University investigators. Additional core resources will be developed according to investigator needs and funding.

Hope Center administrative offices and most cores are located in the Biotechnology Center building (old Dental School), 4559 Scott Avenue.

Hope Center Core resources:

  • Animal Models Core - rodent genetic, surgical, and stereotaxic models of neurological diseases
  • Alafi Neuroimaging Laboratory - advanced microscopy resources including multiphoton and confocal microscopy
  • Viral Vectors Core - Provides access to attenuated viruses for experimental gene delivery, including lentivirus and adeno-associated virus (AAV), and assists with other molecular neuroscience applications
