The American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association present the Sheila Essey Award - an award for ALS research to recognize an individual who has made significant research contributions in the search for the cause, prevention of, and cure for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

Applicants must be actively engaged in ALS research. Award recipient is expected to present a 20-minute lecture during an anterior horn scientific session at the 60th AAN Annual Meeting held in Chicago, Illinois, April 12 to 19, 2008.

Anticipated deadline: November 1, 2008. A deadline for the next cycle has not been confirmed. The record will be updated when new program information becomes available.
