Burroughs Wellcome - Training Award [1/31/08] PDF Print E-mail

Burroughs Wellcome Fund has announced the Institutional Program Unifying Population and Laboratory Based Sciences - a new institutional training award created to bridge the gap between the population and computational sciences and the laboratory based biological sciences. The award will stimulate formation of new connections between existing concentrations of research strength in population approaches to human health and in bench based biological sciences.

These institutional training awards provide $500,000 a year for five years. Burroughs Wellcome Fund anticipates that up to (4) awards will be made in the program's first round. The program will be offered again in 2009. Washington University is limited to a single application. Samuel Stanley, Vice Chancellor for Research, has agreed to lead the effort to generate an interdisciplinary proposal from Washington University.
