The mission of the Hope Center is to improve the lives of people with neurological diseases through innovative research. We bring together scientists and clinicians whose expertise spans many different disciplines, to study diseases of the brain and spinal cord such as ALS, Alzheimer's disease, brain and spinal injury, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and stroke. Our collaborative research model is based on the conviction that these disorders share common molecular mechanisms of nerve cell degeneration. Fundamental discoveries related to one disease can rapidly lead to treatments in others, thus accelerating the translational pathway from scientific discoveries into therapies and cures.
