Five Center faculty receive McDonnell Center grants PDF Print E-mail
May 15, 2003 - Five Center investigators received grants from Washington University's McDonnell Center for Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology.  The grants provide one year of research support for innovative projects.
The recipients and their projects are:

* Anne Fagan Niven, PhD "Effects of aging and P-glycoprotein on AB efflux from the brain"
* Jeri-Annette Lyons, PhD "B cell migration into the central nervous system during Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyeolitis"
* K. Liu Lin Thio, MD, PhD "Does leptin mediate the anorexigenic and anticonvulsant effects of the Atkins/ketogenic diet?"
* Michael Wong, MD, PhD "Role of astrocytes in neuronal excitability and seizures in an animal model of Epilepsy"
* Kelvin Yamada, MD "FGF14 and synaptic function"
