New Hope Center web site debuts PDF Print E-mail
December 15, 2006

We are delighted to announce a major redesign of the Hope Center web site. The new site uses a "content management system" web design, which allows flexible, modular, and collaborative programming. The redesign greatly enhances our ability to share news and information about the Hope Center with visitors and scientists.

Some new features of the site:

  • Faster access to news. News items are easier to update and share, and now appear on the home page. In addition, please look over our collection of feature articles, links to recent in-depth stories in Washington University publications about the outstanding Hope Center scientists and their research accomplishments. These are terrific articles.
  • More information about the Hope Center and Neuroscience Blueprint Cores . Each core facility now has one or more pages of descriptive information. In the next few months, these areas will be expanded to improve core access, provide updated directions and protocols, allow on-line discussion and resource scheduling. Core directors will be able to edit their own pages once login IDs are assigned.
  • On-line event calendars . Seminar and lecture schedules are automatically updated and displayed.
  • A link to the National Library of Medicine: click to view a list of publications authored by Hope Center members , most recent first.
  • More graphics. The home page shows photos of Hope Center clinicians and scientists on a rotating basis. Random images are displayed each time your browser is refreshed. In addition, the top banner area displays a selection of brain-related images, ranging from light and electron microscopy to human brain imaging. Scientists, send us your images for this space.
  • A user-friendly display. Click on icons in the top corner to get a wider or narrower screen, or to change to smaller or larger font sizes.

The web site was designed by Tim West, David Murray, Jing Shi, Anneliese Schaefer, and Mark Goldberg. Many additional dynamic features will be added in the coming months.

The web site can be found at http://hopecenter.wustl.edu OR http://www.hcnd.org . HCND stands for Hope Center for Neurological Disorders, but we recognize this is not the easiest name to remember (hopecenter.org is taken). Your suggestions?
