Winners of Spring 2006 Hope Center Research Prize PDF Print E-mail
March 13, 2006 — Elizabeth Tank and Chris Weihl, M.D., PhD, were awarded annual Hope Center Research Prizes. Elizabeth Tank, a PhD candidate in the Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences, won the graduate student category for her entry entitled "PrP Repeat Expansions Confers Enhanced Structural Variability."

Chris Weihl, M.D., PhD -- currently a fellow in the Division of Neuromuscular Disorders -- won the associate award for his work in using both cellular and animal models of hereditary inclusion body myositis (IBM) to explore the underlying pathogenesis of Alzheimer's Disease.

Both winners receive a $500 travel award to attend a scientific meeting.
